5 years on...

It has been a while to say the least!

I thought it was time I picked up from where I left off. As my life has changed considerably since my last post in September 2012. I thought it was time for a refresh and to post some of my experiences of adulthood let's say...

A brief timeline

2012 was in many ways the year that has shaped my life into what it is today.

Looking back on the events of that year, it is safe to say that I am glad we are where we are 5 years later.

  • One of the closest and most dearest people in my life sadly died of cancer on 12th May 2012.

  • I got married to the love of my life and my best friend on June 16th 2012.

  •  We moved from Farnborough, Hampshire back to our home county, Essex on August 4th 2012.

  • July 1st we picked up our bright red, brand spanking new, Nissan Juke

    • On September 2nd 2012 we purchased our little puppies whom made our baby Sparling family complete. Milo and Lola!

    • On October 8th 2012 my Great Aunt and sister to my dearest family member who died in May also died.
    • November 2012 we started the purchase of our first home together in Colchester, Essex.

Now, however, I would never be able to date events that have happened since then because that year was the pinnacle of my life to date. It not only changed me; but shaped me into the person I have since become. I have many more updates to also share.

    Marble nails

No water required just a blunt pencil and a couple of nail polishes that look good together:

I just found this on the beauty lab blog, unfortunately its in Dutch so I watched the video and thought I could give it a go ...

    Here are the results ...

For my first attempt and trying many colours, I don't think it went too badly

    Suggestions and comments welcome <3

    Love Love Love these Jeans

    http://www.net-a-porter.com/product/170868?cm_mmc=ProductSearch-_-UK-_-Jeans-_-Renell

I have to say I am in complete and utter love with these jeans by Isabel Marant, I have seen them on so many blogs and now found that I can buy them on net-a-porter, however, I really cannot afford them :(

    These!!! :

    But they are £395

So I'm looking for alternatives to arise within the market and I'm keeping my fingers crossed so far I've found a couple taking on the jean patterns:

    #1 River Island £40
    Asos: Karen Millen £105

    Topshop Moto £50:

Definitely some alternatives out there, but not quite the same as the Isabel Marant beauties <3

    Ciate nail polishes

After receiving the two pots that I won on a facebook competition. I have to say I am pretty pleased with the colours. I was given plastic fantastic 016 and ghetto black 017. Plastic fantastic is not as bright as it seems so is much more of a fuchsia pink than hot pink! Ghetto black comes out nicely and not too  thin as far as black polishes go. I might try this out as a leopard print design, check below. They paint very smoothly onto the nail and dont come out watery or patchy even though a couple of layers is still needed. The bottles are beautifully designed and a good size :) Any more suggestions on patterns I could do?

    Here they are:

    Excuse my terrible painting :S

    My attempt at leopard:

    and finally :

Please comment below with any other suggestions for designs :)

Barry M and Nails inc LFW

After leaving a comment on my other blog : tiatheicecreamaddict.blogspot.com about my new Barry M polishes (which I love!!) I found a blog post by Nails Inc and discovered that they have two very similar colours which have been picked up during LFW S/S '12 collections.

The Barry M Peach Melba and Berry Ice-Cream :

Nails Inc Wellington Square and Bruton Street:

Coincidence ? I'm even happy with my purchases!

'Phillip Lim stood out from the crowd delivering a show that was drawn from his childhood of flying kits, subtle and classy it reminded us of cult classics like Klein and Lang. Get ahead of the trend with soft peach Nails inc shadeWellington Square and lilac on trend polish Bruton Street. The look is not girly it's cool and minimalist so tone in with white.'

    London Fashion Week #3

Cooperative Designs - Annalisa Dunn & Dorothee Hagemann

Trademark piece: “For SS11, it would have to be our Black & White Cropped Zebra Jumper.  We specialise in graphic knits, oversized modern shapes and textural yarns. This piece has everything.”
    • Annalisa - London Brighton Uni then onto CSM for her MA
    • Dorothee - Germany FHTW, Berlin then onto CSM for her MA
This collection looks fantastic and actually wearable! Some the knitwear with its brilliant bold stripes is really striking (and comfy looking!!) Having already got stockists in ASOS, I'm sure this collection will be flying off the shelves for S/S '12. Their accessorising is so perfect to fall right into the fashion forward and innovators market trend. The bright pop cable knits are so versatile and could also be carried on into the following seasons. The look is fresh but yet stays true to the brand and is so original. I love it!

I want to get me some of that!!
